New battery concepts
Battery Modules and Pack Integration
The development of new battery cell technologies and architectures goes hand in hand with the design of new battery modules and their integration into complete battery packs.
Our focus is on identifying the optimal battery configuration while preserving the performance of the underlying battery technology. This requires a balanced approach that considers not only electrical performance, but also thermal and mechanical aspects.
Flexible and Reusable Battery Systems
To increase the flexibility of energy storage systems, battery modules must be stackable and easy to integrate. They should also feature standardised connections to electrical battery management systems and, where relevant, thermal management systems.
This modular approach offers additional benefits beyond the battery’s first use. It supports the development of second-life applications, enabling battery modules to be reused after the end of their initial service life.
