Interoperable Flexibility Trading Solutions

The growing share of renewable energy sources increases the need for flexible demand and supply. This flexibility is essential to manage the variable and unpredictable nature of renewable energy generation while maintaining a stable and cost-effective energy system. At EnergyVille, we investigate how residential and industrial flexibility can be modelled, valued and deployed to support the operation of future energy networks.

 Modelling Flexibility Across Energy Carriers

As different energy carriers become increasingly interconnected, flexibility must be considered across the entire energy system. To address this challenge, EnergyVille has developed a multi-carrier flexibility modelling framework. This framework enables the modelling, optimisation and valuation of residential and industrial flexibility in integrated energy systems. It is used both for operational control and during the design phase of energy systems (Design4Flex).

Interoperability for Future Energy Markets

Interoperability is a key challenge for tomorrow’s energy markets. At EnergyVille, we study interoperability from a holistic perspective, taking into account technological, economic and social dimensions.

Enabling Collaboration Across the Energy System

Future energy markets require intelligent control mechanisms, supported by robust ICT systems and effective collaboration between stakeholders. This includes energy companies, network operators and end-users. By addressing these challenges, we help create the foundations for flexible, interoperable and future-ready energy markets.
