FlexIQ Workshop 2026 - Data, Flexibility and a Socially Just Energy Transition
Why this workshop?
Energy-related data can help activate demand flexibility, but data availability alone does not guarantee an effective or socially just energy transition. FlexIQ, a KU Leuven-funded research project, will bring together academic, technical, economic, legal, industry and societal perspectives to examine what is needed to turn data into workable flexibility solutions.
Themes in focus
- Residential demand flexibility and the role of energy data and their regulation at the EU level
- Hosting capacity and network-aware flexibility utilization under uncertainty
- Incentives, predictive models, access and control over to data
- Technical, economic and legal perspectives on a socially just transition
- Choice experiments and the behaviour of energy users
What to expect
A focused, interactive workshop for researchers, network operators, energy companies, public-sector organisations and other practitioners. The programme is expected to combine thematic sessions with a cross-disciplinary panel discussion.
Confirmed speakers include representatives of KU Leuven, UGent, Florence School of Regulation, VITO, Gridual, Czech Technical University, SmartEN and REScoop.eu.
