Deep Dive Session: High power charging integration: Are we prepared for the change?

EventEvenement

In this Deep Dive we explore the cutting edge of fast-charging infrastructure and the future of electric mobility. This session brings together experts to discuss technologies and strategies that are driving sustainable transportation solutions.

The event will feature two insightful talks covering the latest developments in High-Power Charging (HPC) systems and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technologies, followed by real-world use cases and business models. From the integration of HPC networks for logistics fleets to V2G applications in residential and commercial energy management, we’ll delve into practical applications, optimization strategies, and the regulatory landscape shaping the future of e-mobility.

This is the first of a series of stand-alone Deep Dive Sessions. These Deep Dives takes place within the framework of the European EDIH-EBE project. EDIH-EBE offers companies access to expertise, data and testing facilities. In these sessions we offer you a combination of an expert panel and a demonstration.

Programme

  • 10.30h: Welcome and introduction to EDIH-EBE
  • 10.45h: Lecture: High power charging and e-mobility technologies
  • 11.30h: Lecture: Use cases and business models by Carlos Gil
Given the growing pressure for logistic companies to decarbonize their operations and the fast development of HPC, this talk will address the challenges, opportunities, and current developments of heavy-duty charging infrastructure. This seminar also presents the status of the public, private, and semi-private charging infrastructure deployment in Europe and Belgium compared to the current European ambitions described in the AFIR proposal. Finally, some use cases and business models will be discussed to address the market gaps in truck electrification from the perspective of investment, operations, and quality of service. The discussion invites the audience to reimagine the European charging infrastructure landscape and how this must evolve to meet private and commercial electric fleet energy needs.
  • 12.15h: Panel discussion
  • 12.45h: Networking lunch and lab demonstration: Charging session analysis and system Integration (in small groups)
