BIPV Certification Workshop

Event

UHasselt and imec are organizing a workshop on next-generation certification approaches for building-integrated PV (BIPV), based on the outcomes of the MC2.0 project. This session explores flexible, risk-based methods to support innovation while ensuring safety and reliability.

Building‑integrated PV (BIPV) is evolving quickly, but certification practices are not always keeping pace. As products become more customized and deeply integrated into buildings, traditional testing approaches can create unnecessary challenges.

This workshop introduces a fresh, streamlined way of thinking about certification for BIPV products and semi‑fabricates, outcome of the MC2.0 project. Rather than relying on one‑size‑fits‑all procedures, we’ll explore how more flexible, risk‑based approaches can support innovation while maintaining safety and reliability.

Join us to discover how emerging methods, cross‑sector insights, and closer collaboration between PV and building communities can open new pathways for bringing cutting‑edge BIPV solutions to market.

Tailored for solar experts

The content and solutions in this workshop are tailored for a diverse range of stakeholders in the photovoltaic (PV) industry. This includes PV and Integrated Photovoltaic (IPV) module manufacturers, researchers in solar energy, architects involved in building-integrated PV projects, insurers assessing solar investments and certification laboratories ensuring quality and compliance.

We aim to provide insights, resources and tools that address the unique needs of each of these groups, supporting innovation, reliability and informed decision-making in the PV sector.
