Efficient and Reliable Power Converters

At EnergyVille, we develop advanced power converters based on state-of-the-art Gallium Nitride (GaN) and Silicon Carbide (SiC) technologies. These converters support a wide range of applications, including low-voltage direct current (LVDC) grids, high-efficiency drives and battery interfaces.

Focus on Efficient Power Conversion

A key area of research is high step-up and high step-down DC/DC conversion. Our developments focus on three essential requirements: reliability, efficiency and compactness. These characteristics are critical for the next generation of power electronic systems.

Applications Across Energy Systems

The converter technologies we develop are used in a variety of applications:

  • Point-of-Load (POL) systems

  • Integrated module-level converters (MLCs) for Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV)

These applications demonstrate the versatility of our converter technologies across modern energy systems.

Testing Under Extreme Conditions

To ensure reliable operation in demanding environments, we evaluate our converters under extreme operating conditions. Using climate chambers, we expose converters to increased thermal loads and simulate challenging environmental scenarios. This allows us to assess their performance and reliability under realistic stress conditions.

Accurate Performance Validation

In addition to environmental testing, we use specialised test setups to accurately measure converter efficiency. These facilities enable us to validate new designs and continuously optimise the performance of our power converter technologies.
