R&D PROFESSIONAL ALGORITHMS, MODELS AND OPTIMIZATION - INFORMATION AND COMPUTATION BASED METHODS FOR ENERGY FLEXIBILITY
The research group Algorithms, Models, and Optimization (AMO) at EnergyVille focusses on discovering, leveraging, and valorizing flexibility in energy supply and demand as a key to increasing the use of renewable energy sources. We design and implement pragmatic models for various kinds of flexibility and build high-performance, data driven, control- and scheduling algorithms that optimize energy provision and consumption in operational and commercial contexts.
You work in a team of researchers and PhDs working on mathematical, model based, decentralized, and/or data driven techniques that enable a higher share of renewables and developing novel solutions for the practical challenges within the energy infrastructure.
You interface with researchers in the domain of electrical grids, electrical storage, thermal energy systems, e-mobility, etc., and provide advanced, performant, and practical algorithmic solutions for their challenges.
You contribute to various research, integration, and implementation projects within (international) consortia.
You support the acquisition of new commercial or cooperative research projects.
You publish research results in international, peer-reviewed journals in cooperation with the research team. You present research results at international forums.
You hold a Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, physics, or a relevant similar education. A Ph.D. in a related field is a bonus.
You have a strong affinity to the energy domain (grids, energy markets, e-mobility, electrical and/or thermal supply or storage systems); you are passionate about enabling a transition to a green and sustainable energy infrastructure; you are knowledgeable or willing to learn about the challenges and mechanics of the energy infrastructure.
You have substantial, practical, experience with software development in teams. You like to use your skills to build performant algorithms to solve real-world problems. Experience in operations research and AI and/or object and agent oriented programming is a plus.
You have a background with interdisciplinary projects.
You are a team player and at the same time capable of working independently.
You take initiative.
You have good communication skills, both oral and written, you can move confidently in international contexts and can build and maintain networks.
You master English in speech and writing.
