EnergyVille @ European Utility Week

Last week EnergyVille was present at the European Utility Week in Amsterdam. The event serves as an annual meeting point for the smart utility community, ranging from utilities, network operators, vendors, consultants, startups and system integrators covering the entire smart energy value chain. It was attended by over 12.000 international visitors, 550 speakers (including 4 from EnergyVille) and almost 600 exhibitors.

On Wednesday Ronnie Belmans took part in a panel discussion on Electro-Mobility, a Smart City Enabler. The panel centered around the impact of EV’s on cities, utilities and the power system and what barriers exist for wide scale adoption. Thursday Sarah Bogaert spoke on citizen engagement and the City-Zen project. Their presentations were attended by many people and functioned as an important bridge to tackle the current needs of the energy market.

Of course EnergyVille speakers were present during the hub sessions as well. Tatiana Pasquel Garcia presided the Intelligent Buildings session and Reinhilde d’Hulst spoke on future roles of DSO’s. For EnergyVille these presentations functioned as a final note for an outstanding week in Amsterdam. The European Utility Week demonstrated to be an interesting platform for collaboration, bringing together industry leaders, start-ups and young talent to drive the industry forward.

Next year the European Utility Week will take place in Vienna from 6-8 November. We hope to welcome you there!
